About this adventure tour...A two-week extravaganza! Full of big city fun and south western sun - one of our all-time favourites.
From Hollywood to the border, the Grand Canyon to San Francisco and Las Vegas to LA, the fun never stops. Step into the Old West and gaze in awe at the depth and grandeur of one of the World's natural wonders - the Grand Canyon; stare in disbelief at the world's largest trees - the Giant Sequoias of Yosemite; and watch night become day as the sun sets on the Las Vegas Strip...
Begin this active adventure with a tour of Hollywood. Stroll along the Walk of Fame and follow the curves up Mulholland Drive for a view of the 'Hollywood' sign. We follow US Highway 1 - the Pacific Coast Highway - north to Big Sur. Camp amongst the Redwoods and explore the rugged coastline with a sunset walk on the beach.
We visit Carmel or Monterey on the way to America's most charming city and home of the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf, and Chinatown - San Francisco! Enjoy a full day to take in the sights and sounds of the city, with time for shopping, or a visit to the infamous former prison at Alcatraz Island.
 Then it is across the Bay Bridge and into the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains to the valley of Yosemite National Park. Hike to one of the magnificent waterfalls, or hire a bicycle to pedal along the park roads. Float down the Merced River, or go horseback riding in the meadows. From this beautiful natural setting we descend into the sandy deserts and to the gambling capitol of Nevada - Las Vegas!
Let the party begin with an all-you-can-eat buffet. Shake hands with 'one-armed bandits', take a limousine cruise of 'The Strip', or enjoy a cooling swim in the hotel's shimmering pool.
Return to nature, across the Colorado River, to the south rim of Grand Canyon National Park. Nothing you have ever seen before will prepare you for this spectacular sight! Hike from the forest above to the desert below, red rock to white powder, take a helicopter or airplane flight above it all, and marvel at the brilliant colours that emerge and blend into the setting sun.
Visit the current home of the Old London Bridge at Lake Havasu, Arizona, and then it is on to the Southern California city of San Diego. Visit SeaWorld Adventure Park or the world-famous San Diego Zoo, or simply relax on the beach and perfect your tan. San Diego has the perfect environment for so many outdoor activities; rollerblading, beach volleyball, boogie boarding and bicycling... you name it! An afternoon visit to Universal Studios and a chance to try some of the newest state-of-art' thrill rides marks an end to this classic adventure.
