From Christchurch you will head west to the Rakaia Gorge and Lake Coleridge before spending the night in Methven. Crossing the Canterbury Plains will land you in Peel Forest, followed by Lake Tekapo and Lake Pukaki, in the heart of New Zealand’s Southern Alps. Wanaka, puzzle capital of New Zealand, will be your next stop before heading up into the stunning Mount Aspiring National Park. From there you will head south to Queenstown for a few days to soak up the adrenalin-fuelled atmosphere and take part in some extreme sports yourself? From Queenstown you will head south west to the glorious Doubtful Sound region and the town of Te Anau for some time on the water.
