Designed for players of all abilities, the academies develop a personal training programme specifically for you, incorporating your aspirations, current ability and intensity that you want to train at. Academy 1 offers a flexible training programme, academy 2 is designed for those who want to get the most out of their cricket experience - more intense one to one sessions. Specialising in providing the perfect environment for overseas cricketers to develop the physical, technical and mental aspects of their game. Not only is New Zealand one of the world's leading cricket nations, but it is also a fantastic place to spend your gap year or career break. This unique experience combines training, with a fantastic tour included in the programme. The tour gives you the chance to test yourself against 2 teams from Australia, undeniably the best cricketing nation in the world. The Cricket Training ProgrammeOver the duration of the programme, each academy member will be responsible for sticking to their own training programme. Working with the coaches, each player has a training logbook in order for their development to be more measurable and their progress realistic. The training will cover the following areas:
LocationThere are two academies to choose from: Academy 1 is approx 100 km's from New Zealand's capital, Wellington. Academy 2 is in Napier on the North Island of New Zealand Accommodation and MealsAcademy 1 - players live in dorms at the cricket academy, with their own separate room. Academy 2 - players live in the academy house, rooms are on a twin-share basis. Three meals a day are provided at both academies during the training programme. During the tour to Australia players will cater for themselves.
Most meals will be prepared for the players; however, some days will require the students to heat up their meals. From December 20 to end of January during the summer school holidays all players at academy 1 will need to prepare their own meals, which will have been pre-made for them.
