This placement would suit... someone keen to get their hands dirty and really get involved in working life on a New Zealand dairy farm or vineyard.
 New Zealand - land of mountains and fjords, hot springs and rolling hills, rugged coasts and stunning beaches.What a place to live while you build up your experience working on a farm or vineyard. ‘Kiwi land’ has so much to offer even the most hardened of travellers - mountain climbing, whale watching, bungee jumping, sky diving, skiing and snow boarding, rugby, sailing and surfing. If this sounds like you then read on....(as long as you don't mind some hard graft too!) Changing Worlds is proud to be associated with some very successful farming and agriculture programmes in Australia and New Zealand. This would be of considerable interest to students from agricultural backgrounds and who want to travel but at the same time learn more about the trade. You need to be the type of person who listens well to instructions as some of this work can be dangerous. Listen to the locals and you will be fine! There is horse work available but do not expect to be riding horse back every day of the week. Indeed in the majority of cases mustering now takes place on quad bikes or on helicopters! Work means getting up 'before the birds' and showing willing at such an early hour! All our placements are in the Northlands district of North Island, about three hours drive North of Auckland. In all cases a clean UK driving licence would really help. It is not a pre-requisite but will certainly add to your experience. Sadly, for insurance purposes, we are unable to offer any farm machinery work eg. driving tractors. As well as work on the farm, we are able to offer voluntary work on a New Zealand vineyard. New Zealand wine is classed as some of the best in the world, and the vineyards are located among some of the most amazing scenery you will see. This placement is new to Changing Worlds.
