This placement would suit... Someone who is keen to work hard and earn a wage whilst enjoying the friendly Kiwi culture and the stunning New Zealand scenery.

Changing Worlds offer working placements in New Zealand - land of mountains and fjords, hot springs and rolling hills, rugged coasts and stunning beaches.

Changing Worlds offers paid hotel work in the semi tropical North Island in Paihia, Bay of Islands where attractions include whale and dolphin watching, diving, snorkeling and boating.

What a place to live while you build up your experience working in a prestigious hotel‘Kiwi land’ has so much to offer even the most hardened of travellers - mountain climbing, whale watching, bungee jumping, sky diving, skiing and snow boarding, rugby, sailing and surfing. If this sounds like you then read on...(as long as you don't mind some hard graft too!)

We look for people who have considerable experience working in hospitality - a minimum of six months relevant work experience will ensure you get the job you deserve and the pay too. Pay can be anything between £3 to £8 per hour depending on experience. There are also opportunities to work with horses on a Stud Farm or at Queenstown airport. Both of these placements are new to Changing Worlds. More information provided on request.

Accommodation:

Those working in the tourist industry will be offered accommodation in the hotel staff quarters, or rented accommodation - often with fellow participants. The cost will be deducted from your pay.

Std farm and airport workers are given accommodation on or close to the site - this could be living with a family or in separate quarters.

You may be asked to share a room with a fellow worker. Your room will be basic but will have electric supply and access to a toilet and shower.

Support:

Your Changing Worlds representative will arrange for you to be met on arrival in New Zealand.

They will contact the placement regularly to check all is well and keep us updated on your health, welfare and progress.

Your first port of call if you have a work-related problem is your manager at the airport or stud farm or your hotel manager

Your Changing Worlds representative will deal with other problems (or work issues if not satisfactorily resolved) for example if you are unwell or require local advice.

Freetime:

New Zealand has a reputation for outdoor pursuits and for this reason alone you will not be disappointed.

Whatever you do you can expect to work some weekends so free time will always be at a premium. However in your time off there is plenty to explore in the Bay of Islands area - It is a very popular tourist spot. You can skydive, go zorb balling(!), tree-hugging, dolphin watching and sand skiing as well as travelling south to Auckland, Rotorua and the Bay of Plenty.

In Queenstown (often described as the adrenalin capital of the World!) there is so much to do and see you will be spoilt for choice - nothing is impossible here. In the Winter season (July to September) you will enjoy the ski and snowboarding.

Most participants go sky diving, skiing, canoeing, white water rafting, trekking and, of course, bungee jumping.

For the sports enthusiasts of course New Zealand is the home to rugby - and we have links with rugby clubs in North Island if you want to learn more from the All Blacks!
