What: Wellington Dragon Boat Festival
Where: Wellington, New Zealand
When: 10th and 11th March 2007

Dragon boat racing began in China, thousands of years ago. Races are now held all over the World, with one of the best festivals being held in Wellington. Teams of people race decorated rowing boats in Wellington Harbour, watched by over 40,000 spectators. There are plenty of other things going on too, including live music, drumming and Chinese dragons.

What: WOMAD New Zealand
Where: Taranaki, New Zealand
When: 16th to 18th March 2007

WOMAD stands for World Of Music And Dance. Expect three days of blistering performances by artists from around the globe at this massive world music festival. There are also crafts from all over the World and a mouth-watering array of food. WOMAD is famous for its chilled and friendly vibe, so come along and join the party.

What: Kaikoura Seafest
Where: Kaikoura, New Zealand
When: 6th October 2006

Do you like fish? How about wine? If so, check out Kaikoura Seafest, a celebration of local food and wine, held on Kaikoura's esplanade. If not, you probably shouldn't bother. There's lots of live music and entertainment too, as well as the Big Top Bash.
