Purchase Cancellations
Cancellation charges are simple for Travelpass.

- Cancellation prior to activation = 100% refund
- Cancellation after activation = No refund

It is strongly advised that all Travelpass holders carry adequate travel insurance as no exceptions to the cancellation conditions will be accepted. If a number of people are traveling together but may make journeys independent of each other we recommend purchasing separate passes. Passes will not be separated once activated and no refunds will be made.

Pass Activation
A Travelpass is deemed to be activated when a pass holder contacts the Travelpass team and requests their pass be activated or when any travel reservation is made against a pass, whichever occurs first.

Travel Day Cancellations
Once travel of any type has been booked for a specific day that day will be counted as a travel day. If multiple sectors are booked for a specific day the day will count as a travel day unless all sectors have been cancelled prior to that specific day i.e. If a pass holder books a ferry crossing and a coach sector from Picton to Kaikoura for Tuesday March 22, 2005. Unless both sectors are cancelled within the allowable time, March 22, 2005 will count as a travel day.
