Getting there
Around the World Flights & Tickets to Malaysia

Round the world tickets are a flexible and affordable way to get yourself to loads of destinations within South East Asia, which is why they’re so popular with gappers and backpackers.
If you’ve never bought one before, you’ll want to talk to someone who knows their stuff before you book. That’s why gapyear.com has set up a small, expert team of round the world advisers. They'll give you the sort of expert advice that general travel agent branches or call centre staff can’t offer.
Whether you’re ready to book or just want to discuss your plans with a specialist, give them a call on
0845 3 447 667 or drop them an email.
Around the world routes
Bangkok makes it onto many round the world itineraries, but there's more to South East Asia than Thailand. Nicely nestled closeby are some other absolute gems. Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia have loads to offer backpackers.
Expect orangutans swinging through trees, jungles to trek through, awesome beach parties, mindblowing ancient temples, volcanoes to clamber up and oodles more!
Distant, mythical, vast and sprawling - just some ways to sum up the Far East. This ticket is for those who want to uncover the mysteries for themselves...
Thousands of blinking neon lights, hi-tech gadgetry, a really Great Wall, a Forbidden City, terracotta warriors, stunning temples and even opportunities to snowboard. The Far East, where ancient and modern collide with amazing results.
If you've never been travelling before, or just want to sample plenty of what the World has to offer, then this is the type of ticket for you. You can relax safe in the knowledge that there'll be Christmas barbecues and white sands, without worrying about getting stuck 500 miles away from a cash point.
Typically you'll see Thailand, Oz, NZ, Fiji and the USA on one of these tickets, but there's still room for you to personalise your route.
You can get into Malaysia from Singapore to the south or Thailand to the north by bus or train. Both are cheap and pretty comfortable although it really is worth paying extra for first class. Not that expensive in these parts. Take a sweater with you though - they crank up the air con and it gets cold! You have been warned! You can also get there along the coast by boat which is more expensive but great fun!
